Plain English Summary

Your project data is yours. We don't sell it, we don't show ads, and we never share it with third parties for marketing. We collect only what we need to run the product. You can export or delete your data at any time.

Vismayum (“we”, “our”, “us”) is operated by Vismayum Technologies Private Limited, registered in India. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use our platform at vismayum.com and app.vismayum.com, how we use it, and your rights regarding it.

By using Vismayum, you agree to the practices described here. If you disagree with anything in this policy, please stop using the service and contact us - we're genuinely open to questions.

What we collect

Information you give us directly

→Name, email address, phone number when you sign up or join the waitlist
→Studio or company name and city
→Project data you enter - BOQs, change orders, vendor details, invoices, site photos
→Payment information (processed by Razorpay - we never see or store your card details)
→Support messages and feedback you send us

Information collected automatically

→Browser type, device type, and operating system
→Pages visited, features used, and time spent (anonymised usage analytics)
→IP address (used for security and fraud prevention, not stored long-term)
→Error logs to diagnose bugs

What we do not collect

We do not track your activity outside of Vismayum. We do not build advertising profiles. We do not collect data from your contacts or clients without their direct interaction with the platform.

How we use it

We use your information only to:

→Provide, operate, and improve the Vismayum service
→Send you transactional emails - account confirmation, invoices, payment receipts
→Send product updates and release notes (you can unsubscribe anytime)
→Respond to support requests
→Detect and prevent fraud or abuse
→Comply with Indian law, including GST regulations and RBI guidelines

We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell it to any third party - ever.

Where it's stored

All Vismayum data is stored on servers located in India (Mumbai region). We do not transfer your data outside India except where required to provide the service (for example, sending an email via our transactional email provider).

Data is encrypted at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS 1.3). We perform regular backups. Backups are retained for 30 days and then permanently deleted.

India-first hosting

Your financial and project data never leaves India. We chose Indian-region hosting specifically because our users handle sensitive client financials and GST records that are subject to Indian data residency expectations.

We share your data with a small number of trusted service providers who help us operate the platform. Each is bound by a data processing agreement and can only use your data for the specific purpose we engage them for.

Our sub-processors

→Razorpay - payment processing. Subject to RBI regulations.
→Amazon Web Services (Mumbai region) - cloud infrastructure and storage
→Resend / AWS SES - transactional email delivery
→Sentry - error tracking (anonymised, no PII in error reports)

We may disclose your data to law enforcement or government bodies if required by a valid legal order under Indian law. We will notify you where legally permitted to do so.

Your rights

You have the right to:

→Access - request a copy of all personal data we hold about you
→Correct - update inaccurate data directly in your account settings
→Export - download your project data in a standard format at any time
→Delete - request permanent deletion of your account and all associated data
→Withdraw consent - opt out of marketing emails via the unsubscribe link in any email

How to exercise your rights

Email us at hello@vismayum.com with the subject line “Data Request”. We respond within 7 business days. Account deletion requests are processed within 30 days - all data is permanently purged, including backups, within 60 days.

Cookies

We use a minimal set of cookies:

→Session cookie - keeps you logged in. Expires when you close the browser or after 30 days of inactivity.
→Preference cookie - stores your theme preference (light/dark mode).
→CSRF token - security cookie that prevents cross-site request forgery. Required for the app to function.

We do not use advertising cookies, third-party tracking cookies, or fingerprinting. You can clear cookies via your browser settings - this will log you out of Vismayum.

Children's privacy

Vismayum is a professional business tool intended for adults running interior design studios or freelance practices. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we discover that we have inadvertently collected data from a minor, we will delete it immediately.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. For significant changes, we will notify you by email at least 14 days before the change takes effect. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will always reflect the current version.

Continued use of Vismayum after a policy change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
